TOOLS OF THE TRADE
My note-taking tool — Evernote (4:47)
Trello — for project management (10:15)
Trello lets me track the progress my team and I are making on different projects and tasks.
For internal communication — Slack (11:34)
Slack is reserved for quick questions & conversations with my team.
Gmail — for external biz communications (12:47)
I LOVE gmail. Every address I use lives in the same place, and I can manage everything I need from there.
Contactually — for tracking my contacts/connections (14:51)
Contactually is super user-friendly. It lets me stay up to date on the relationships I’m building, and even shows me the people I haven’t talked to in a while.
Google Calendar — where my schedule lives (17:39)
This is where the calendar-blocking and time-batching all takes place.
Google Drive — for file sharing with my team (18:54)
Listen…DropBox and I aren’t really friends. Google Drive is my go-to for getting files to and from my team on the daily.
Pinterest — for branding & visualization (20:14)
From homeowner life to personal branding, Pinterest is where it’s at for creating all kinds of digital vision boards!
Picmonkey — for photo editing and quick graphic design (21:00)
You don’t have to be a master designer to create something beautiful online! I use Picmonkey to edit photos, create graphics, and more.
Snapchat — for the best filters (22:45)
Snapchat filters are my FAV. I can go from looking like death to looking like a goddess with the click of a button.
Planoly — for scheduling Instagram posts (25:08)
We use Planoly for clients and internal work, and my team and I love it. I can keep an eye on how my grid is looking and move scheduled posts around to fit the aesthetic I want.
YouTube Studio — for video uploading (26:04)
When you’re a creator, you have to be able to make quick edits on the fly. YouTube studio is the best app for publishing content!
Headspace — for meditation (26:47)
It’s okay to need a little guidance in your meditation! The coaches on the Headspace app are fantastic at leading you to the best meditation practice for you.
Apple Podcasts (28:05)
My favs right now:
- The Daily
- The Tim Ferriss Show (& The Random Show with Tim Ferris)

Audible — for passive bookreading (31:00)
My goal of 50 books for 2020 is being made possible by Audible. Currently listening to The Sweet Spot!
Amazon — for literally everything (32:01)
I use Amazon for recommending products I love to my community! Check out @shine.squad.secrets for all my recs, and to see how affiliate links work on Amazon.
YouTube — my main social squeeze (33:38)
YouTube is where the bulk of my content lives. It’s where I can feel like I’m sitting down with my community to have important convos every week, and it’s been so exciting to watch the platform change!
Instagram — the behind-the-scenes looks (34:44)
Instagram is the behind-the-scenes space where I go to have some fun! Follow me @schmittastic!
Twitter — for quick connections (35:13)
Twitter is my favorite tool for popping a quick “Good Morning, Good Life” into your timeline each morning. Follow me @schmittastic!
Patreon — for Shine Squad (36:15)
Patreon is a membership community where my #ShineSquad lives. Check it out at patreon.com/amytv
